Let’s explore some exciting Christmas themed workouts! There is much fun to be had!!! Let’s make this upcoming Christmas season a fun holiday season!

Days Of Christmas Workout: This is SO fun! It is like an advent calendar but for exercise! Exercise every day! This day of Christmas workout is super fun.

From the first day of Christmas to every day leading up to Christmas Eve, there is a quick (cuz I know it is as busy time of year!) workout routine for you to do.

This is the perfect way to get your blood pumping and your heart beating! Don’t forget to mark off each day as you complete them and countdown to Christmas the fitness way!

Christmas Cardio Challenge: Set up a cardio circuit with exercises such as jumping rope, mountain climbers, box jumps, and fast-paced shadow boxing with a light pair of dumbbells (you can also use two bottled waters if you don’t own dumbbells). Perform each exercise for a set duration to elevate your heart rate and burn calories.

Festive Tabata Training: Incorporate Tabata intervals into your workout, alternating between 20 seconds of high-intensity exercise and 10 seconds of rest. Choose exercises like jumping lunges, squat jumps, and jogging for a quick and intense workout (the intensity level is up to you!).

Holiday Pilates Routine: Grab your yoga mat (or a towel/blanket) and engage in a Pilates session focusing on your core muscles, stability, and flexibility. Incorporate exercises like the hundred, roll-ups, and leg circles to sculpt and tone your thigh muscles.

Festive Functional Training: Use household items such as water bottles, canned yams (hey, it must be Christmas-themed, remember???), or resistance bands to perform functional exercises like bicep curls, shoulder presses, and rows. Focus on controlled movements and proper form to target various muscle groups.

Winter Wonderland Walk: Take a brisk walk outdoors, embracing the winter scenery and fresh cool air. Walking provides a low-impact, full-body workout and is an excellent way to boost cardiovascular health. This is a great workout to do, and it gets you outside.

Jingle Bell Cardio Blast Dance Party: Put on your favorite holiday music or Christmas carols and have a dance party in your living room. Dancing is a fantastic way to get your heart pumping and have a blast with your family or friends.

By participating in the Jingle Bell Cardio Blast dance party, you are working your upper body and lower body while dancing! I really think this is totally doable for anyone to do, whether they are busy or not. We all deserve a little break! And dancing is just what the doctor ordered!

Sleigh Ride Sprint: You can do this one right in your own yard (or a nearby park if you don’t have a big yard). Imagine you’re dashing through the snow on a sleigh and see how fast you can go!

Yuletide Yoga Flow: Practice a yoga sequence with poses inspired by the holiday season, such as tree poses (see below), warrior poses, and seated candy cane twists. Focus on deep breathing and mindful movement to improve flexibility and reduce stress.

Snowy Stair Climbs: Utilize a staircase for a lower body workout by climbing up and down repeatedly. This exercise targets the glutes, quadriceps, and calves, providing an effective cardio and strength workout to improve your leg strength. If you don’t have any stairs in your home, you can use a step-up box or low chair/stool.

Christmas Tree Pose: Challenge your family to see who can hold the tree pose the longest. This is a great way to work on balance and core strength while having a bit of friendly competition.

Snowflake Stretch: Lie on your back and stretch your arms and legs out wide like a snowflake. Take deep breaths and relax, imagining yourself gently falling from the winter sky.

Nutcracker Ballet Barre: Clear a space near a sturdy piece of furniture or railing and use it as a “barre” for ballet-inspired exercises. Practice pliés, tendus, and relevés to the rhythm of classic Nutcracker music.

Christmas Exercises To Do With Kids (Or Friends)

Frosty’s Freeze Tag: Play a game of freeze tag with a holiday twist. When tagging someone, they have to freeze in place like a snowman until another player “melts” them with a quick tap on the arm.

Candy Cane Cardio: Lay out a line of tape on the floor to act as a “balance beam.” Pretend the tape is a candy cane and practice walking along it without falling off. This is a great way to work on balance and stability especially for younger kids! (but good for parents, too!)

Gift Wrap Relay: Set up a relay race where participants must run to a designated spot, wrap a “present” (a box or stuffed animal), and then run back to tag the next person. This combines cardio with a bit of holiday-themed fun.

Holiday Hula Hooping: Grab a hula hoop and see how long you can keep it spinning around your waist. Challenge your family and friends to a friendly competition to see who can keep the hoop going the longest. Turn up that Christmas music to make it more festive and fun!

All of the effective exercises listed above will definitely get your heart pumping and is great for any activity levels! Christmas-themed fun workouts are a fantastic way to stay active and have fun during the holiday season for anyone’s fitness level.

Whether you’re challenging your children to a reindeer run or striking a yoga pose with your friends, these workouts are sure to bring joy and laughter to your home.

Remember, staying active is not only good for your physical health, but your mental health too. It boosts your mood and energy levels, which is especially important during the long, cold winter months.

Don’t forget to stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water throughout your holiday workouts, and always listen to your body while working out. If you’re feeling tired or unwell, it’s okay to take a break and rest.

Rest days are encouraged and good for you! Most importantly, have a holly jolly time with your loved ones as you celebrate the holiday season with these festive workouts. Happy Holidays, and happy exercising!
