How to Get Rid of Knee Fat: This Is What Worked For Me

In this post, I will discuss how to get rid of knee fat and what worked for me. People don’t like to talk about things they struggle with, like fat knees. I know, it sounds weird, but I know I never wanted to just openly talk about it!

But if you’ve ever looked down and wondered why the rest of your body looks fit, yet your knee area has a little pooch or flab hanging out, or your knee pads are a bit well-fed, then trust me, you are not alone!

I’ve always been on the skinny side, but the front of the knee, the inside of the knees, and that general knee area? It was like a magnet for extra fat. It seemed like everything sweet I ever devoured went to those damn knees of mine! Ugh.

No matter how much I weighed, I carried stubborn fatty deposits around my knees. I tried diet changes, regular exercise, and all sorts of leg exercises, but nothing really helped reduce the appearance of my knees.

Plus, you cannot fat spot reduce any area of your body, you just can’t. So I was feeling a bit irritated and really annoyed with my knees…

It honestly made me self-conscious. I avoided cute shorts, sexy summer dresses, anything that would show my legs.

It’s wild how something like excess knee fat on the knees, which is a small area of the body, can take such a big toll on your confidence! But it certainly did!

And while weight loss can help some people with some fat reduction OVERALL, it doesn’t always target specific areas like the inner knees.

Why Do I Have Knee Fat?

First I had to figure out WHY I had fat knees when none of my siblings did! Not fair! I learned that knee fat can come from a number of things.

Things like, weight gain (wasn’t my issue), poor diet (ya, probably…), lack of exercise (I mean, I exercises enough when I was  younger…), hormonal changes (coulda been!), or even just your genetics (didn’t seem to be the case here!).

For some people, it’s part of aging. For others, it’s a mix of fat accumulation and lack of muscle tone. In my case, it wasn’t about being overweight. I was at a healthy weight, but still had that fat pad sitting around my knees.

Fat cells in the lower body, especially around the knees, can be hard to shrink with just cardio or clean eating. They tend to hang on (and man they hang on TIGHT).

And while some people turn to surgical procedures like knee liposuction or other fat removal treatments, I wanted to try something less intense first (and because I just don’t have money to throw around, sigh).

So I started looking for a noninvasive treatment that didn’t involve a long recovery time and tons of money that no one really has to spend (right???).

During my research I found the Fasciablaster by Ashley Black. I came across it one night while reading about non-surgical methods to reduce loose skin and target specific exercise-resistant areas like the inner thighs and knees. I was skeptical, of course, aren’t we all? But desperate enough to give it a shot.

I bought the Mini 2 Fasciablaster and started using it just once a week on my knees and thighs. At first, I bruised easily (which can be common when you’re just starting).

But over time, I built up to 2 to 3 times per week (I sometimes do it more, it just depends!). It became part of my physical activity routine, an easy add-on after my workouts or just after a long, hard day.

It was slow going at first. Then after about a month of continued use of a few times a week, I started to notice some changes in my knees.

My skin surface looked smoother. My lymphatic system felt more active, like things were actually draining and moving and my knees were no longer looking so dang fat.

The extra fat on my knees was going down and fading. After a few months, my knees finally matched the rest of my body weight. No more knee flab. No more weird fat deposits clinging to one tiny area of the body.

I know it is very subtle, the changes in the picture above, but trust me when I say, there is a huge difference to me and in person! I am happy! You can see how I fasciablast by checking out this video I created!

And another good thing? My thighs and butt area were smoothing out. My orange peel cellulite thighs and bum were smoothing out a bit. Holy heavens, WHAT?!?

The Mini 2 Fasciablaster I bought is small and easy to grip. It also has these pointy ends that help you get into those tricky corners and smaller spots like around the knee joint.

It’s honestly been the most effective way for me to tackle this issue without resorting to professional treatments or surgical options (which I had no money to do anyway).

Other Things That Help With Fat Knees

Even though the Fasciablaster has been a great way to address my excess fat, there are also a few other things that can help, and may work for you.

Here are some other things I came across when searching for ‘how to get rid of knee fat‘:

*Leg-focused strength training. Think lunge jumps, squats, and resistance band work. These help activate key muscles around the knees and improve the range of motion while boosting calorie burn.

*A balanced diet. A healthy diet supports fat loss and helps you maintain your ideal weight. Combine that with healthy habits and the fat will slowly melt off, not just from your knees, but your entire body.

*Stay active. Avoid a sedentary lifestyle. Even low-impact type of exercise like walking, swimming, or cycling can make a difference in your lower body.

*Massage or foam rolling. These can improve circulation and help reduce the look of fat accumulation in specific areas like the knees (similar to the Fasciablaster).

*Consult a professional. If you’re dealing with arthritic knees, a medical history that includes injuries, or if you’re considering surgical procedure options, talk to your doctor before starting anything new.

The Bottom Line

Everyone’s body holds onto extra weight differently. Some carry it in their belly, others in their arms, and for a lot of us our thighs, and for some of us super super lucky ones, our knees (insert eyeroll here…).

Whether it’s caused by lifestyle changes, hormonal shifts, or just your natural build, knee fat doesn’t have to be permanent and you really can eliminate it or lessen it.

There’s no one-size-fits-all ideal solution for targeting fat knees, but I hope my story shows that with the right tool like the Mini 2, and some consistency, you can see real change.

For me, the Fasciablaster was that change. It gave me back the confidence to wear what I want and feel proud of my legs again.

So if you’re struggling with knee fat and want a holistic approach that doesn’t involve surgery, give fascia blasting a try.

It might just be the best way to finally say goodbye to your stubborn fatty deposits, and hello to shorts season!

And you know what else you can do for a confidence booster??? Just slap a bit of your favorite sunless tanner on them legs, put on that damn sundress, and go! You have always been gorgeous though, but now you will feel even better! Promise 😉

Buy

You can check out Ashley Black’s Fasciablasters and kits and you can purchase the Mini 2, on Amazon.com. I think the Mini 2 retails for around $70-ish dollars and is the best money I ever spent.

Quick Note: Always consult your doctor first before starting anything new, especially when it comes to your health, fitness, or trying a new non-surgical method like this.
